This dress is designed as part of the “Cybelle Horizon” fashion collection. It features an illuminated fiber optic fabric embellishment that blinks in time with the music around it. The base is a corset made out of organic cotton and hemp silk using traditional and modern professional corset-making techniques and structured with steel bones. The silhouette created is an extreme hourglass figure, accented by the illuminated strips draped around it.
The Fiber Optic Corset Dress was created out of a desire to create a piece of wearable technology that was aesthetically ethereal, futuristic, and used the illumination in a relevant way.
The corset dress was featured at the exhibition of the International Symposium of Wearable Computers in Zurich in September 2013.
The original dress is available to purchase. Made-to-order options are also available. Contact Rachael for info.
